Hello, I am Ana V. Lara, and I am a secondary education teacher, certified in Social Sciences 6-12, English 5-9, and have an ESOL endorsement. Also, I went to Florida Atlantic University -GO OWLS and earned a Bachelor in Arts Degree with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies with behavior Magna Cum Laude. Currently, I am attending NOVA Southeast University to earn a Master of Science Degree in General Psychology.

On a personal note, I was born in Venezuela, and at fourteen years old, my parents brought me and my sister to the United States. Anyhow, I have always been interested in helping others even at a young age. In high school, I became an intern at a cancer research institute in Miami Beach where I helped gather information for patients and supporters. Also, in tenth grade, I was a leader of the Biology Club where I promoted community engagement to create conscience about our environment. Nowadays, I am an active advocate for the ONE movement campaigning to end extreme poverty and prevent diseases in Africa.

On a deeply personal note, I am a mom of two daughters and a Boston terrier named Bisquit. I like cooking, going to the beach, kayaking, camping, visiting a new country, trying new foods, going to concerts, doing exercises such as cycling, just to name a few. I die for any type of dessert especially Nutella and any type of cake. I do like spicy food….you can read more on my blog.
